Steps To Home Remodeling

Room ColorsWhen considering a home remodeling project, take measurements of the room and make careful drawings of it. Include doors, windows and any features, such as radiators and fireplaces. Measure these items and include their distances from the floor, wall corners, doors and ceilings.

Room Colors

If the floor is to be changed, consider the room as a whole. Decide if the floor type and color will match, coordinate or compliment the walls with a lighter or darker color. The texture of the floor is equally important. Wood, tile and carpet may all come in red colors, but with completely different textures.

Furniture

The type of furniture will make or break the remodeling scheme. Having a black and white checkerboard tile floor clashes with Early American furniture. Placing Retro 1950′s diner- style tables and chairs on a highly polished wood floor is equally out of place. Accent tables, sideboards, lamps and lighting, curtains are all part of a room’s design. Careful attention should be given to each piece.

The easiest way to complete a home remodel is to think of a jigsaw puzzle. By drawing each desired result first, and then obtaining and placing the items in the room, the room will be perfect.
